Throughout the year, The Compassionate Friends of Eastern Arkansas hosts meaningful events that provide opportunities to remember our loved ones, connect with other bereaved families, and share hope with our community. Whether you are attending for the first time or have been part of our chapter for many years, our events are designed to offer comfort, understanding, and a place where every child's life is remembered.
From our annual Walk to Remember to the beautiful Worldwide Candle Lighting, each event reflects our mission that no family should grieve alone.
We invite all bereaved parents, grandparents, siblings, extended family members, friends, and supporters to join us as we honor lives that will never be forgotten.
Each year, The Compassionate Friends of Eastern Arkansas hosts the Walk to Remember, bringing together families and community members to celebrate the lives of children, grandchildren, siblings, and loved ones who are deeply missed.
This special event is open to everyone, regardless of where they are on their grief journey. Whether your loss occurred recently or many years ago, you are welcome to walk in honor and memory of your loved one.
The walk serves as both a time of remembrance and an opportunity to raise awareness that grief continues long after a funeral ends—and that support is available.
Each year on the second Sunday in December, thousands of families across the globe participate in the Worldwide Candle Lighting, one of the most meaningful traditions of The Compassionate Friends.
At 7:00 p.m. local time, families light candles in memory of children, grandchildren, siblings, and other beloved family members who have died. As candles are lit across time zones around the world, a continuous wave of light circles the globe for 24 hours—a powerful symbol that our loved ones will never be forgotten.
Our Eastern Arkansas chapter is honored to host a local Candle Lighting program where families gather to remember, reflect, and find comfort together.
